OUR VISION

SONYO is committed to mobilize the youth sector's participation in decision making; political empowerment; protecting human/ child rights; furthering youth opportunities in education, health, culture, sports and committed to working for the environment and gender issues.

OUR MISSION

SONYO will work towards the creation of a democratic, sustainable and gender sensitive nationwide umbrella organization that will fully mobilize the youth population to actively participate in Somaliland development strengthening the civil society movement through active participation in political issues, transformation of the country's socio-cultural situation and uplifting the economic conditions with the long term aim of improving the youth situation.

OUR GOALS

a. To create a strong, sustainable national youth umbrella organization that would become a vehicle in strengthening the relationship of youth organizations in Somaliland.

b. To actively advocate for youth issues in development, human rights and political movements and promote a positive image of Somaliland youth to motivate more participation and contribution for the country's development.

c. To forge links of cooperation and solidarity with government, UN and international agencies and network of like minded organizations to further improve the post-conflict situation of Somaliland.

d. To contribute in laying the foundation of democracy in the country that would ensure rule of law, protection human rights that would eventually create a culture of human rights.

e. To improve the economic, political and social-cultural role and condition of the youth preserving the youth’s cultural identity and political and economic rights.
